Eh, ehm!

Is this thing on?

Good!

This past week a lot of drama has broke out.

A. Lot.

Twitter, Blogger, Facebook and even IRL.

But here's what I don't get...

When did it become wrong to have opinions?

To like/dislike certain things?

To uphold your own moralities?

If everyone was the the same it would be a very boring place.

We would have 1 store with 1 outfit. 1 restaurant with 1 item. 1 color. 1 hairstyle. 1 kind of car.

1 type of nail polish. 1 shoe...

All because we all liked the same things.

No choices.

How hard is it to respect other peoples beliefs/opinions/choices etc.?

For instance: I am 150% against gay marriage!

However, I am not going to picket, riot, blast other people on  social media because of their choices (oh yeah I believe it's a choice to). 

Does this mean I won't attend this kind of wedding? No, I would. I just wouldn't stand up with them.

Does this mean some of the most influential people in my life aren't gay? H E double hockey sticks NO! The woman (besides my mom and Grams) that had the most influence on me and taught me some of the most amazing things is gay. I love her & her wife more than you would ever know.

Because guess what....I didn't make these choices.

They don't effect me. 

I am confident in my morals, ethics, opinions and beliefs that your difference doesn't effect me. 

In fact, I love hearing how other people interpret things. 

Because maybe...just maybe I have been closed minded about something.

Maybe I wasn't aware of another side to it. 

But that doesn't mean you are right. Or I am right.

We all have different background. We all have faced different circumstances in our life that mold us into the people we are. 

That gives us different perspective.

Why can't we be accepting of other people? 

Why can't we accept that I think PINK is the best color in the world and you think Lime Green is?

Instead of calling people out for their ideas and decisions that are in direct opposition to our own views why can't we say, 'I'm glad that you have the confidence in your opinion and I respect that, however, I don't agree.'

Or JUST KEEP OUR MOUTHS SHUT
